After my Lift Etiquette post, a few of you have requested I approach Ski Lift Etiquette. NOW, for those of you who have met me, you will appreciate that skiing is not a pastime of mine! I doubt I will ever step foot on a ski lift...
However, as with my staff here at The Goring, I do not believe in refusing a viable request so here goes. A few tips on Ski Lift Etiquette!
- Don’t queue jump at the ski lift – It’s a big no-no. Apparently it’s just annoying and completely rude. Enough said.
- Always be aware of children around you. Even though they can be the most self-confident skiers in the queue, they’re still only little people who might just need some help and extra time. And if you let them go first, at least you haven’t got the embarrassment of them beating you down the slope. Again.
- Ensure you leave enough room, some of the older lifts can be a bit of an embarrassingly intimate squash.
- If you’re catching a lift with beginners, please be helpful, even if it is tempting to have a bit of a laugh at their expense.
